The Registered Nurse Educator is responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering educational programs that promote clinical excellence and support professional development across the organization. This role ensures staff competency, regulatory compliance, and continuous learning through orientation, annual training, certification programs, and on-demand education. The Nurse Educator collaborates with clinical leaders and department educators to identify learning needs, develop tailored educational content, and enhance patient care quality through evidence-based teaching and support.

Hours:

  • 1.0 FTE - 40 Hours per week
  • 8 hour Shifts - Monday - Friday

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and provide comprehensive educational programs for clinical and non-clinical staff across all departments
  • Oversee, develop, and facilitate clinical orientation and onboarding for all new hires
  • Develop and deliver annual provider and contractor education in collaboration with leadership and department heads
  • Plan and conduct organization-wide and unit-based ongoing education and competency validations
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal healthcare regulations through collaborative educational efforts
  • Create, assign, and document computer-based learning modules for clinical staff
  • Oversee the scheduling and programming of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Chair and facilitate the Education Council and Code Blue and Rapid Response Committee
  • Coordinate and facilitate nursing skills fairs, including planning, scheduling, resource preparation, and evaluation to ensure clinical competency and regulatory compliance
  • Follow up directly with staff when educational requirements or certifications are due or incomplete
  • Meet with all new clinical hires to assess and support additional education needs or requests
  • Conduct monthly meetings with clinical managers to discuss departmental education plans and address specific training needs
  • Design and implement department-specific education as requested
  • Conduct regular rounding throughout the organization to provide just-in-time education and support
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services to support clinical teams and respond to education-related needs
  • Provide on-demand educational support to all organization departments as needed
  • Collaborate with department-based educators to ensure cohesive and effective training across the organization
  • Collect, analyze, and report education-related data and metrics to leadership and regulatory bodies as required
  • Use the organization's secure messaging platform in accordance with departmental protocols, including timely receipt and responses to communications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required
  • Master's degree in education preferred
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin required
  • BLS certification is required upon hire
  • Become a BLS instructor within one (1) year of hire
  • Must obtain ACLS and PALS certification within six (6) months of hire
  • Experience as an educator preferred
  • Must possess a cell phone that interfaces with the organization’s secure messaging system
