DUTIES: Under the direction of the PHN12 Nursing Manager, coordinator plays a leadership role in assessing and training on maternal/infant mortality and morbidity. Performs and implements health education, prevention, and control measures according to Healthy Start Systems protocols. In line with Healthy People 2030/Health of Boston report identifies patterns, provides education and outreach as needed for successful outcomes for maternal child health.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
RN licensed in MA & Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field required.
Masters Degree in Nursing, Education, or Public Health preferred.
3-5 years Public Health experience required, including recent direct clinical experience.
Prior communicable disease experience preferred.
Demonstrated supervisory skills required with demonstrated leadership -and organizational skills.
Strong assessment, planning, evaluation and intervention skills. Excellent teaching and counseling abilities. Demonstrated ability to carry out responsibilities in the home, community, clinic, school, and/or other group settings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Prior phlebotomy experience preferred or willingness to learn.
Bilingual (Spanish, Creole, or Asian language) preferred.
Valid Mass. drivers license and daily access to working automobile required.
