This position works collaboratively with management and staff at multiple sites to provide or coordinate general staff development and education based on theory and knowledge along with principles and processes of adult learning. He or she assists in developing, delivering and evaluating educational in-services / activities / programs / workshops. The individual will promote a culture in which educational learning is valued, evidence and best practice based; where clinical standards are supported. The individual will support the development and review of policies, procedures, practice changes and initiatives. The individual will be expected to use critical thinking skills to select, review, synthesize and apply the best practice. This position involves significant computer work, in-depth literature searches, use of multiple media applications, and interactive and online educational materials. The individual is responsible for maintaining the education database, communicating with managers to validate required educational needs and competencies.
