Job Description: The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is assigned responsibilities to support staff in delivering education requirements to ensure the safe delivery of high-quality patient care and to maintain system flow. The CNE will work collaboratively with other leaders and educators within the organization to provide education services consistent with overall program direction. Under the direction of the Acute Care (AC) Manager, the CNE integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the models of care and principles of adult learning in the provision of education, research, and quality client-centered care for patients. The incumbent will provide visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client-centered care through identified education and/or programming. In collaboration with the AC Director and AC Managers, the CNE is responsible for assessing the learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, evaluating, and tracking education activities and programs. The CNE will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to care staff and managers. The position will have specific responsibilities related to electronic health record systems (e.g., Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) and PYXIS), specialized client needs, and clinical knowledge requirements within the Acute Care service line.

Experience

  • Experience with planning, implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
  • Three (3) years experience in the specific clinical area

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Comparable degree in education/adult learning may be considered.
