The Nurse Educator will bring his/her specific expertise to provide a wide range of educational services, clinical support and mentoring to the Primary Health Care Networks. The Nurse Educator, in consultation with the Nursing Manager is responsible for overall planning and implementation of an educational program to address the needs of the staff, patients and their family. The Nurse educator provides development and leadership in the areas of clinical practice, education, research and quality improvement. The Nurse Educator is an experienced nurse who is an expert in the assigned clinical area. The Nurse Educator is a role model for staff in client/family care. The Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and evidence based research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • 3 years experience in clinical area within the past 5 years
  • Experience in program/resource development
  • Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
  • Experience using EMR and Inter RAI assessment tools will be considered an asset.

Education

  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing

Other Education & Training:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work.
  • Willing to travel to rural areas as assigned. Travel allowance is provided.
  • Community based position provides services in clinic/home settings in PHC Regina
  • Travel required to various community sites within Regina PHC Networks
  • Home base for this position is: 204 Wascana Street (Subject to change)
