The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Under the direction of the Manager, the Clinical Coordinator integrates knowledge, skill and research into the development and delivery of quality, client centered care. The incumbent will provide visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client centered care to the patients and families served by the Geriatric Services Resource Team. In collaboration with their Manager, the Coordinator is responsible for assessing the needs of the program, its staff and clients by planning, implementing and evaluating its day to day function. The Coordinator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate.

Licenses:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience
  • Requires experience in program/resource development related to needs assessment.
  • Experience in case management
  • Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
  • Experience in adult education

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Ability to be self-directed
  • Knowledge and application of quality improvement principles, tools, and outcomes
  • Knowledge of the impact of social/economic/cultural issues on chronic disease
  • Knowledge in LEAN management system
  • Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to implement, utilize & evaluate best practice models of client care
  • Ability to provide direct patient care
  • Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
  • Ability to apply research to clinical practice
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience into clinical practice
  • Knowledge in learning and teaching principles
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Regulations
  • Knowledge in organization's goals, vision, mission and values
  • Ability of fine motor movement to perform duties of position

Other Education & Training:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
