Primary Scheduled Hours: Per Diem

Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN. Assists patients in performing tasks involving direct or indirect patient care, treatment, and maintenance of the nursing unit.

Essential Job Functions:

• Works with the patient’s physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychological needs specific to the population being served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards. When possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the care team.
• Support the department by answering call lights for all patients and notifies staff responsible if unable to meet patient needs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, bathing, and positioning
• Follows the delegation process when receiving requests from a team member.
• Reads charts, dials, equipment settings, literature, and other printed and handwritten materials
• Communicate with patients, physicians, families, and co-workers in person and/or on telephone
• Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and/or gathers vital signs
• Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures
• Utilizes the electronic medical record to document patient care
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
• Floats to other departments (ED, OB, Outpatient, Surgery) as needed

Education Background and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Required Licensure / Certifications:

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in State of Washington.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 or more years of experience in a patient care setting

Professional Requirements:

• Maintain regulatory requirements
• Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
• Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Compensation/How We Care For You:

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
