Description

The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (EKVC) is a 120-bed long-term care facility providing skilled nursing and
rehabilitative care exclusively to Kentucky’s Veterans. Proudly operated by the Kentucky Department of
Veterans Affairs, EKVC was built with a single purpose — to honor and care for those who have served our
nation.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Aide State Registered I to join our team. This is
your opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day in the lives of our Veteran residents.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide total personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Assist residents with meals and proper hydration, including restorative dining
  • Escort residents to medical appointments and activities
  • Record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure
  • Assist with lifting, repositioning, and transporting residents using assistive equipment
  • Maintain clean and safe living environments and follow infection control protocols
  • Observe and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
  • Perform additional care tasks as directed

This position, in the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center Nursing Services Department, in Perry County, KY, has
an approved Locality Premium of $3.23 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
