Responsible for the ongoing conceptualization, development and implementation of the WV Trauma Center Designation Program under the Division of Trauma, Designation, and Categorization within the WV OEMS per Legislative Rule 64CSR27. Responsible for the stroke facility recognition process under the Division of Trauma, Designation, and Categorization within the WV OEMS per WV Code 16-56-18. Collaborates with WV professional health care colleagues In the advancement of Trauma Care. Stroke Care, Trauma Center Designation, Stroke Center recognition to ensure optimal care of Injured and stroke WV citizens and visitors at our WV Acute Care Facilities. Reviews all WV Trauma Center Designation policies and procedures to assure compliance with Legislative mandate and American College of Surgeon, Committee of Trauma (ACSCOT) updates and when necessary, recommends or Initiates changes to policies and procedure. Reviews all WV Stroke recognition policies and procedures to assure compliance with Code mandate and when necessary, recommends or initiates changes to policies and procedure. Reviews patient records for the Identification of Opportunities for Improvement (OFI) throughout the continuum of facility specific trauma care. Provides advanced level consultation and expertise to facility Trauma Program Managers, Hospital Administrators and WV OEMS staff. Assists the OEMS Medical Director, OEMS Deputy Director for Trauma, Division Director and Other Officials In the Investigation of hospital compliance issues as It relates to Trauma Center Designation Levels or Activities. Other related duties as assigned.
