The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse (Registered Nurse) to provide comprehensive healthcare to youth at Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility. In this role, you will deliver professional nursing care, administer individualized treatment plans, and respond to medical emergencies.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong clinical skills, and is dedicated to supporting the health and habilitation of youth.Core Responsibilities:Patient Care and AssessmentProvide professional nursing care to youth, observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress of clinic out-patientsMake nursing rounds; take and record initialsInterview youth to obtain comprehensive medical historiesInstruct patients regarding health maintenance, wellness, and self-administered medications Medication Administration and Inventory ControlPrepare and administer prescribed medications and ordered treatment plansMaintain constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs, medication, and medical equipment; order suppliesChart and record all administered medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information accurately Safety, Monitoring, and Emergency ResponseConduct timely monitoring of restrained patients (e.g., lockups, detention, isolated)Provide immediate medical attention to emergencies, including administering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitationEvaluate emergency situations; counsel patients on the need for medical referral; contact the staff physician when necessary; arrange immediate transportation to hospital emergency rooms Clinical Operations and Physician SupportAssist physicians in the evaluation, treatment, and care planning of patients; assist with physical examinationsCollect and test diagnostic specimens; administer vaccinations and medical injections (e.g., insulin, allergy)Schedule doctor appointments and arrange out-patient clinical appointments with specialists (e.g., dentists, psychologists)Prepare examination room; stock supplies; sterilize equipmentComplete all required reports (e.g., incident reports, accident reports)Why Work for the State of OhioAt the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans. Requires current licensure as registered professional nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code.

This training is fully paid for and will cover lodging, transportation (if needed) and meals.
