Gulfstream is seeking a Numerical Control Engineer 3 to develop advanced NC programs supporting precision manufacturing across our world‑class aircraft production environment. This role plays a critical part in machining strategy, tooling development, and complex cutter path programming for NC milling machines and lathes.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze engineering drawings, tool designs, and 3D models to determine optimal machining methods
  • Define machine selection, material cut sizes, and machining sequences
  • Develop detailed cutter motion logic, spindle speeds, and feed rates
  • Verify cutter paths using Vericut to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Create operator setup sheets, flat pattern mylars, templates, and 2D CATIA tool drawings
  • Collaborate closely with planners, tool designers, engineering teams, and customers
  • May lead task assignments, workloads, and priorities to support team goals
  • Mentor and guide junior NC Engineers as needed

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years in machining, planning, tool design, or related manufacturing roles
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Numerical Control Engineer
  • High proficiency with CATIA modeling, drafting, and CATIA NC Mill
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of machining methods, drafting standards, technical writing, and modern manufacturing practices
  • Excellent communication skills and proven reliability in meeting objectives
  • CATIA or Mastercam programming experience preferred

Education and Experience Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 4 years machining, planning, tool design, or related manufacturing experience to include 2 years of experience as numerical control engineer. Position PurposeUnder minimal supervision, perform activities related to complex numerical control (NC) programming, including machining methods, tooling concepts, and programs for NC milling machines and lathes. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  1. Conduct a thorough analysis of engineering drawings, tool design drawings, and/or electronic models, to determine the optimal machining methods, selection of machine tool, and material cut size. .
  2. Interact with planners, tool designers, engineering, and customers as required, to finalize plan.
  3. Develop cutter motion logic per operation sequence, selecting proper spindle speeds and feed rates.
  4. Perform a thorough check on all aspects of the program and verify cutter paths through the utilization of Vericut. .
  5. Develop operator set-up sheets for numerical control machines. .
  6. Develop flat pattern mylars and templates as required.
  7. Produce 2-D Catia tool drawings as required. .
  8. May act as Team Leader as required, assigning work tasks, maintaining work load schedules, and setting priorities to ensure timely completion of department goals and corporate objectives. .

Additional Functions:

  1. Assist in training and guiding lower level engineers as needed. .
  2. Assist in formulating Numerical Control policies, procedures, and specifications as required. .

Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  2. Strong knowledge of various machining and drafting methods, technical writing, and computer use.
  3. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings.
  4. Must be highly proficient with Catia modeling, drafting, and Catia NC Mill function. .
  5. Must have demonstrated expertise and a proven track record in support of company policies and rules, and consistently meeting objectives.


This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
