Who are we looking for?
To support GHD's continued expansion in the Canadian nuclear market, we are seeking a Nuclear Quality Lead to establish, implement, and sustain our nuclear quality assurance program, while supporting project delivery across our growing portfolio of nuclear work.
This role is ideal for an experienced quality professional who understands the practical application of CSA N286, CSA N299.1-16, and related nuclear quality standards to engineering and infrastructure development/modification projects, within the industry.
You will act as the primary interface between GHD and nuclear clients, regulators, and supporting partners, leading the development and implementation of the nuclear QA program. In addition to establishing, building, and maintaining our nuclear quality program, you will act as the primary QA representative to nuclear clients and stakeholders, support audits/assessments/qualification activities, and mentor internal teams on program expectations

Role Purpose
This role combines nuclear quality program leadership with project delivery support and organizational capability development.
The position is designed for a senior nuclear quality professional capable of establishing and maintaining a robust nuclear quality management system while supporting project execution and the responsible growth of GHD's nuclear practice.
The role is quality-led, with accountability for the development and ongoing management of GHD's nuclear quality program, complemented by project delivery and client engagement support.
Key Responsibilities
Nuclear Quality Program Leadership
Lead the development and implementation of GHD's Nuclear Quality Management System in alignment with CSA N286 and CSA N299.1-16 requirements
Assist with drafting of QA/QC procedures and related documentation
Lead organizational readiness for internal, client, supplier, and third-party audits
Maintain and continuously improve the nuclear QA program
Review and ensure procedures related to QA elements are practical, usable, and aligned with operations
Provide expert interpretation of nuclear quality requirements and industry best practices
Audit and Regulatory Compliance
Plan and conduct internal audits and surveillance activities.
Prepare for client, utility, and third-party audits, assessments, and qualification activities
Oversee nonconformance, corrective actions and continuous improvement
Maintain organizational audit readiness.
Support procurement QA, supplier qualification and approved supplier programs.
Mentorship and Capability Development
Develop organizational structure and hiring strategy for nuclear QA/QC project teams.
Mentor and coach QA/QC managers and project quality personnel.
Drive understanding of procedure use and adherence
Support training and awareness on nuclear QA expectations
Support qualification and competency programs.
Provide expert guidance to project teams during project planning and execution.
Promote a strong nuclear safety and quality culture.
Project and Client Support
Serve as Quality Manager or Quality Advisor on nuclear projects.
Review and verify that deliverables produced by technical teams meet project/organizational QA/ QC standards, client technical requirements, and that creation has followed documented company quality procedures and project quality plans.
Support preparation of nuclear project quality plans and client-specific quality requirements.
Participate in proposal development and client presentations.
Provide quality oversight for engineering, procurement, construction, and advisory engagements.
Support client audits and quality reviews.
Focus: Program development & governance (≈50%) | Project support (≈30%) | Mentorship & business growth (≈20%)
What you will bring to the team:
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and navigate complex organizational environments.
Capability to influence without direct authority using strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
A structured, detail-oriented, and practical mindset
Experience performing process/program audits and gap assessments is required.
Proven ability to develop quality programs for nuclear vendors and/or utilities is a strong asset.
Skilled interpersonal communicator, with demonstrated ability to effectively engage with executive, operational, project, and technical stakeholders.
Ability and willingness to travel across Ontario (Darlington, Pickering, Bruce, Chalk River, Toronto).
The salary range for this position is $113,406 - $163,406. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
