Job Objective:
Performs a variety of procedures utilizing nuclear medicine equipment; produces films, as assigned, routine nuclear medicine camera operation and accurate record keeping. Education:
Required: Graduate of Accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology if hired after March 1, 2025
Licensure/Certification:
Required: Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (NM) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine; American Heart Association BLS

Essential Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Obtains all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age specific needs.
3. Performs nuclear medicine procedures of high technical quality.
4. Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient from excessive radiation.
5. Uses all equipment proficiently and reports all deficiencies to immediate supervisor.
6. Maintains x-ray rooms neatly and stocked for exams and at end of shift, if applicable.
7. Assists in other areas of assigned department as assigned.
8. Completes daily assignments within scheduled shift; communicates pertinent information and unfinished tasks to relief personnel.
9. Uses time between procedures to maintain a safe clean environment; maintains inventory of supplies in assigned area; prepares and maintains records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing and disposal activities, if applicable.
10. Uses hospital information management system for patient demographics and other patient information.
11. Communicates with co-workers prior to breaks and lunches to ensure continuity of workflow.
12. Completes procedure with high technical quality to produce a high quality recording of the procedure.
13. Calculates data to include results of patient studies and radioactive decay.
14. Communicates observations of patient condition changes to registered nurse or physician; documents pertinent clinical history and symptoms.
15. Provides safe patient environment at all times; stays with patient who may be in danger of falling and hurting themselves; safe transportation of patient; identifies patient by use of arm band.
16. Maintains aseptic technique during a procedure.
17. Maintains proficiency in starting IV lines and follows proper injection procedure, if applicable.
18. Submits nuclear charge tickets for each patient procedure at the close of business day, if applicable.
19. Uses judgment when opening and using supplies to be cost effective.
20. Performs other duties as assigned.
