AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Student Orientation and Transition Programs (SOTP)isseekingmotivated andfriendly individuals to serve as members of our Check-In Crew This is apart-timepositionstarting inJune2026and concluding inAugust 2026and is ideal for someone who has another part time job on campus.

Members of the Check-In Crewplay a key role in welcoming new students to the University Park campus byfacilitatingthe check-in process during New Student Orientation (NSO) This includesassistingaround700new studentsand their guestsduring each program.

Responsibilities include handling confidentialstudentrecords with responsibility and care; engaging with students, parents, and families while providing a welcoming environment; andmaintainingflexibility in a fast-paced work environment.

NSO Check-in requires availability between200 p.m. and800 p.m.on the dates listed below, except for June 28, when the time is 10:00-6:00 p.m Successfulcandidates can expect to be scheduled fora minimum of 3 hoursoneach of those dates.In addition to the dates listed below, training will berequiredearlier in June.

Dates for NSO Check-In: June8, June 10, June 15, June 17, June 22, June 24, June 28, July 6, July 8, July 13, July 15, August 18, August 20

This position includes a compensation of $15.00/hour and requires employees to pass a standard background check andmaintaingood conduct and academic standing with the University.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
