As an NPI Process Technician, you are responsible for supporting the successful introduction, qualification, and ramp-up of new products by ensuring stable and efficient operation of processing equipment. You play a critical role on the production floor, acting as the first line of technical response to process, equipment, and quality issues during NPI builds.

You will work closely with process engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution of NPI activities, rapid issue identification, and effective containment and resolution. Due to your proximity to operations, you are often the first to detect abnormalities and are expected to take ownership in coordinating immediate actions and driving closure.

You serve as a key escalation point for issues that could impact safety, product quality, delivery timelines, or process stability. When necessary, you will escalate to the shift manager, production manager, or engineering teams to ensure timely resolution and alignment.

Your role requires strong hands-on involvement, adaptability, and readiness to respond to dynamic and sometimes unexpected situations during product introduction phases. You are also expected to guide and support operators to ensure adherence to process requirements and NPI execution standards.

  • Use process data, engineering feedback, and key production metrics to monitor NPI line health, ensuring smooth product ramp and early issue detection. Develop strong capability in interpreting process trends and deviations.
  • Escalate safety observations and process-related risks to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and full closure in alignment with site safety standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate process or equipment-related issues that may impact NPI builds, yield, or cycle time. Support fast containment and recovery actions.
  • Monitor WIP status, including hold lots and priority material, to ensure timely disposition, release, and processing in accordance with NPI schedules and customer commitments.
  • Support process qualification, line setup, and validation activities to enable successful product introduction and high-quality ramp-up.
  • Drive and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield improvement, defect reduction, process stability, and cycle time optimization.
  • Actively participate in Kaizen events and problem-solving activities related to new product introduction and process improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with process engineers, production, and quality teams to ensure alignment on NPI readiness, process control, and issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to operators to ensure adherence to process specifications, work instructions, and best practices during NPI runs.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety requirements and reinforcing safe behaviors on the production floor.
  • Support knowledge transfer and skill development within the team to enhance NPI execution capability and readiness for future products.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture by recognizing contributions, supporting teamwork, and ensuring smooth handover between shifts.
  • Prepare and share regular updates on NPI progress, key metrics (yield, cycle time, defects), and ongoing improvement activities with engineering and production stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation, including pass-down notes, process deviations, and key issues impacting NPI builds.
  • Support and participate in cross-functional meetings (e.g., daily operations or NPI review meetings) to align on priorities, issues, and execution plans.
  • 2 to 3; years of semiconductor experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned area’s overall performance
  • Ability to understand complex semiconductor equipment and processes and their interactions
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize work utilizing a data centric approach and business impact perspective
  • Strong collaboration skills; promotes good teamwork among internal and external resources
  • Strong advocate of employee development and advancement
