Summary Responsible for managing end-to-end documentation , ensuring full product traceability , and overseeing efficient material handling for NPI builds. The role requires strong coordination across engineering, quality, production, and supply chain teams while maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. Documentation Management Prepare, review, and control all NPI-related documents: BOM (Bill of Materials) Work Instructions (WI) SOPs and Process Flow Charts Assembly drawings and test procedures Ensure document version control and revision tracking using PLM/ERP systems Support ECO/ECN implementation during product introduction Coordinate with design teams for DFM/DFT feedback documentation Maintain customer-specific documentation standards and audit readiness 2. Traceability Management Establish and maintain end-to-end traceability systems : Component-level traceability Lot/batch traceability Serial number tracking Ensure traceability compliance with: Customer requirements Industry standards (IPC, ISO, etc.) Implement and monitor barcode/RFID tracking systems Maintain records for: Process traceability Rework and repair history Support quality teams in root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations 3. Material Handling & Control Define and implement material handling procedures for NPI builds Ensure proper ESD, moisture control (MSL), and storage conditions Coordinate material readiness for: Proto builds Pilot runs Mass production ramp-up Manage: Kitting processes Line-side inventory control Material movement tracking Work closely with SCM for: Material shortages Alternate parts evaluation Ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance and proper material segregation 4. NPI & Cross-Functional Coordination Participate in NPI meetings, build readiness reviews, and gate approvals Coordinate with: Design Engineering Quality Assurance Production Supply Chain Drive smooth transition from prototype to mass production Support trial builds, validation runs, and process qualification 5. Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with: ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 / IATF standards (as applicable) ESD and safety standards Support internal and external audits Ensure proper documentation for: PPAP / FAI / Validation reports Maintain data integrity for regulatory and customer audits Requirements Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electronics / Electrical Engineering Technical Skills Strong understanding of: Electronics manufacturing processes (SMT, PCBA, Box Build) BOM structures and component identification ESD, MSL, and handling standards Experience with: ERP (SAP / Oracle) PLM tools Traceability systems (barcode, MES) Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Good coordination and stakeholder management Ability to work in fast-paced NPI environment Attention to detail and documentation accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience in EMS industry Exposure to automotive / medical / aerospace electronics Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 5S practices Certification in quality or process excellence is an added advantage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) NPI build readiness success rate Documentation accuracy and audit compliance Traceability system effectiveness Material availability & handling efficiency ECO implementation cycle time
