Carrier | First Shift

The Industrial Engineersupports Carrier’s applied chiller manufacturing operations by analyzing, designing, andoptimizingproduction systems to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance. This role works cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and advanced engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure Carrier’s chiller manufacturing processes meet world-class operational standards. The Industrial Engineer plays a key role in capacity planning, labor optimization, workflow design, and implementation of lean manufacturing principles across the plant.

This role is onsite in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization:Analyze manufacturing processes, material flow, and labor utilizationto improve throughput and reduce waste.

  • Labor & Standards:Develop and maintaintime studies, standard work, and labor models to supportaccuratestaffing, line balancing, and productivity improvements.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI):Support NPIs by developing process plans, capacity models, and workflow changes aligned with chiller manufacturing requirements.

  • Technology Integration:Collaborate with Advanced Engineering to integrate new equipment, automation, and technology into existing processes.

  • Performance Analysis:Evaluate process and equipment capabilities, identifyconstraints,andrecommendsolutions to improve performance.

  • Financial & Safety Compliance:Conduct cost analysis for capital projects and ensure compliance with Carrier’s EHS standards, promoting safe work practices and ergonomic improvements.

  • Continuous Improvement:Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, including Kaizen events, root-cause analysis, and waste-reduction projects.

  • Documentation:Maintainprocess maps, PFMEAs, capacity models, and workflow diagrams.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IndustrialEngineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

  • 4+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2+ yearsofCADtools, data analysis software, and industrial engineering methodologies.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DOE (Design of Experiments), process capability tools, and advanced analytics.

  • Proficiencywith CAD tools, data analysis software, and industrial engineering methodologies.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.

  • Familiarity with DOE (Design of Experiments), process capability tools, and advanced analytics.

  • Strong skills in time studies, line balancing, and workflow optimization.

  • Experience specifically within HVAC, heavy equipment, or electromechanical assemblyindustries.

  • Demonstrated leadership in high-impact Lean or Six Sigma projects.

  • Advancedproficiencyin manufacturing simulation or advanced data modeling software.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
