Program Goals

  • Begin building technical foundation
  • Provide challenging assignments
  • Create broad exposure to Solar Turbines organization and application
  • Acquire gas turbine product knowledge

Each program consists of two (2) to four (4) rotations with a Four to Six-month duration in departments such as:

  • Mechanical Design
  • Mechanical Design Methods
  • Combustion
  • Heat Transfer
  • Compressor Aero
  • Turbine Aero
  • Materials & Processes
  • Development Test
  • Aftermarket Engineering
  • Performance
  • Customer Services

During the candidate selection process, the candidate will be selected for a particular functional department that leverages their current skill set and future interests, rotations will be a combination of departments/roles that will supplement final placement and candidate preference to stretch and learn and upon completion of the program the selected candidate joins the selected department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • In the process of obtaining or have obtained a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering program such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemistry, ect
  • Overall GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous Internship and/or relevant work experience.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • Must be able and willing to relocate to San Diego, CA and be in office full time.
  • Ideal for those building foundational skills in this field, generally within the first 0–2 years of their career

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience (Course work or internship) in turbomachinery concepts, designs, maintenance
  • High energy level and sense of urgency.
  • Good business / technical judgment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities for a variety of tasks.
  • Previous co-op or Internship experience.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary for this role ranges from $92,500, to $118,000. Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:
