The role serves as a key interface between R&D, operations, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, driving cross-functional execution throughout the NPI lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

NPI & Manufacturing Readiness

  • Lead end-to-end NPI activities from product design through production release and ramp-up.
  • Own manufacturing readiness, including processes, documentation, tooling, equipment, and test infrastructure.
  • Drive structured transfer to production (TTP), ensuring smooth handover to manufacturing operations.
  • Lead production ramp-up and process stabilization, meeting quality, yield, cost, and schedule targets.

Manufacturing Engineering & Industrialization

  • Participate in design reviews and drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Define manufacturing processes, assembly methods, work instructions, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Test engineering to establish production testing and system integration processes.
  • Support manufacturing infrastructure, automation, and production scalability.

Configuration & engineering changes

  • Ensure accurate BOM’s, product revisions, manufacturing documentation, and configuration traceability.
  • Coordinate ECO implementation and engineering changes throughout the NPI lifecycle.

Supply chain & contract manufacturing

  • Lead engineering activities with contract manufacturers and suppliers, including knowledge transfer, process implementation, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to address material risks, component availability, and alternative sourcing.
  • Support supplier qualification and production capacity expansion.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and mitigate technical, manufacturing, and operational risks.
  • Lead manufacturing-related root cause investigations and corrective actions during NPI and ramp-up.
  • Support FAI, process validation, and production qualification.
  • Drive improvements in quality, yield, cycle time, and manufacturing cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering .
  • 5+ years of experience in NPI or manufacturing engineering within complex electronic or electro-mechanical environments.
  • Proven experience in product industrialization, manufacturing transfer, and production ramp-up.
  • Strong technical understanding of multidisciplinary systems, including electronics, mechanical assemblies, and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, SMT, PCBA’s, production testing, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and external suppliers.
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP, BOM management, and ECO processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with global manufacturing operations and production transfers.
