Job Description

Vertiv is hiring an NPDI Planner to support New Product Development and Introduction projects. This person will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring material and build readiness for the successful introduction of new products. The NPDI Planner will accelerate project execution and improve response time for new customer requests by ensuring order ship date confirmations, work order alignment, and clear to build approvals throughout the NPDI cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and confirm ship dates alignment for the NPDI prototypes considering the project timelines and milestones.
  • Track, and manage work orders for engineering prototypes, manufacturing prototypes, and pilot runs.
  • Ensure work order alignment with BOMs.
  • Create Clear to Build analysis for prototype and pre-production builds according to project schedules and customer needs.
  • Monitor and track prototype build status, flagging risks or delays to cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate material readiness and build capacity for each NPDI phase gate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical), Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in planning or production control within a manufacturing or NPDI environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and proficiency in data analytics (Oracle, SAP, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience managing work orders, BOMs, and production schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
  • Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • May travel to different office or plants locations.
