Job Description

The Territory Supervisor is responsible for the successful operation of stores within an assigned territory, supporting other territories as needed, and continually building relationships. The Territory Supervisor will maximize profits, control expenses, provide excellent customer service, continually train and develop all employees

REQUIREMENTS

  • Convenience store management experience for a minimum of three years.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Must work a minimum of 5 ½ days per week, minimum 10 hour days including evenings and nights; as well as being readily accessible through phone or email for support.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for day and nighttime driving and proof of valid auto insurance.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational and decision making skills
  • Must have ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently
  • Must have aptitude to make sound judgments
  • Must have ability to handle confidential information
  • Frequent Travel is required
  • Must be capable of understanding and analyzing financial statements
  • Must have adequate strength, balance, and coordination to perform essential functions

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure GATE’s customers are the first priority to guarantee customers continue to visit GATE stores.
  • Provide positive interaction with customers by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints.
  • Promote a customer-first approach, ensuring all customers receive courteous treatment and efficient service.
  • Ensure a friendly and efficient checkout experience for customers.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Communicate accurately and positively to customers and other staff.
  • Continually learning and reinforcing training.
  • Participate in all store meetings and training sessions.
  • Problem solving and de-escalation skills
  • Follow GATE standards for uniform and appearance.
  • Reinforce/abide and may interact with Federal, State, Local law rules and regulations including company policy.
  • Continuously provide customers with a clean and well-stocked store.
  • Perform minor repair and maintenance of store equipment
  • Operate all equipment in accordance with the duties assigned each day.
  • Handle all payments following all GATE policies.
  • Monitor for and report any safety hazards to provide a safe work environment.
  • Adherence to GATE attendance policy by working a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Ensure compliance with all GATE policy, procedures, objectives and direction
  • Monitor and maintain proper stock levels, automated ordering, and following up with vendor/category manager. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors.
  • Participate in goal setting and budget development for units in assigned territory, including forecasting sales, controlling expenses, and tracking financial performance across all locations
  • Provide leadership and direction to store managers, assistant managers and other employees to maximize net profits, sales and to control expenses.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior leadership, providing updates on store performance, challenges, and successes.
  • Hold monthly territory meetings to discuss operational updates, performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate creation of store schedules, balancing operational needs with employee availability and labor cost management.
  • Active involvement in the recruiting process for all stores including but not limited to setting or conducting interviews for all employees at the stores.
  • Administer consistent and fair disciplinary actions for store managers and assistant managers, including performance assessments and terminations, in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent and fair disciplinary procedures, including documentation, performance evaluations, and terminations, for all store employees in accordance with established company policies.
  • Conduct and oversee various inspections and audits on a monthly basis, including but not limited to store inspections, night rides, cash audits, inventory, safety, compliance, and security audits, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to company standards.
  • Conduct price surveys of competition to ensure competitive pricing strategies, communicate to leadership and adjust store pricing accordingly to remain competitive in the market.
  • Verify completion of all required paperwork, transmittal of daily reports and other pertinent data to GATE.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees and customers, ensure clean, safe and proper working conditions of all equipment, including but not limited to gasoline pumps, dispensers and tanks.
  • Conduct training and enforce robbery prevention procedures in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure proper response to emergencies, including but not limited to robberies, vandalism, incidents involving bodily injury and or property damage, fires and fuel spills greater than ten gallons; notify appropriate GATE personnel; act as GATE representative until the arrival of appropriate personnel or until emergency has subsided.
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports to ensure accurate and timely tracking of financial performance, and communicate findings to store personnel and division managers.
  • Knowledge of store layouts, designs, demographics and limitations of the stores.
  • Proactively communicate with appropriate leadership about all staffing or employee related issues.
  • Encourage employee engagement through recognition and reward based on performance
  • Pursues continuing personal career development through education, training programs or conferences annually.
  • Perform any additional tasks requested or assigned by the Division Manager.
