Job Description

North Sea Area Sales Manager

Do you know the Norwegian Continental Shelf inside and out?
Are you a trusted commercial voice within drilling and wells - someone operators, partners, and industry peers instinctively call?

Weatherford is seeking a Senior Sales Leader to drive growth across our segments on the NCS and more broadly across the North Sea Area (NSA). This is not a traditional sales role, it is a strategic position where you will shape our market approach, strengthen key relationships, grow our business, and directly influence our future in one of the world’s most advanced offshore markets.

This role is for someone who understands the NCS, has visibility across NSA activity, identifies opportunities early, and wants to play a key role in shaping the next phase of Weatherford’s growth.

Your Impact:

  • Shape and execute Weatherford’s commercial and growth strategy across Norway and the NCS and the whole of NSA.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with operators, drilling contractors, and key partners.
  • Identify and unlock new business opportunities across drilling, MPD, TRS, completions, intervention, wireline and well services.
  • Act as Weatherford’s market-facing leader, representing the company across clients, forums, and industry networks.
  • Drive strategic positioning, tendering, and contract negotiations for major opportunities.
  • Provide clear market insight and direction to leadership and the team, based on deep understanding of operators, projects, and trends.

Who You Are:

We are looking for someone who combines credibility, network, business development and commercial sharpness:

  • Extensive experience from the Norwegian oil & gas industry, with strong knowledge of the NCS and its activity.
  • Proven success in commercial leadership, sales, and business development roles.
  • Strong understanding of drilling and wells, including challenges and value opportunities.
  • Strong established network across operators and key stakeholders.
  • A trusted relationship builder with high personal credibility in the market.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to turn insight into real business outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy, ownership, and accountability.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • A highly visible role with direct impact on Weatherford’s position in Norway.
  • Real opportunity to shape strategy, not just execute it.
  • Significant freedom and autonomy to drive commercial success.
  • Exposure to top-tier operators and key industry decision-makers.
  • Backed by a strong technical organization across the full Drilling & Wells portfolio, locally and globally.
  • Opportunity to play a central role in Weatherford’s growth ambitions on the NCS.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • We are looking for a senior sales professional with experience and credibility to operate at the highest level in the NSA market.

  • Extensive experience from the Norwegian oil & gas industry, with a strong understanding of the commercial landscape on the NCS.
  • Demonstrated experience in navigating complex commercial processes, including major tenders, contract strategy, and negotiations.
  • Proven ability to operate at senior levels within both client organizations and internal leadership structures.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, operator strategies, and upcoming project cycles on the NCS.
  • Established ability to influence outcomes in competitive environments.

Practical Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Norwegian, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel across Norway and the North Sea as required.

  • Relevant higher education is beneficial, but experience and market credibility are key.
