JOB PROFILE

DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING

TEXAS-BASED 503B OUTSOURCING FACILITY

The Company:

A 503B outsourcing facility serving hospital and health-system pharmacies. Currently operating in 12 states, with a goal of national presence by the end of 2027. Committed to innovation, excellence, and improving patient outcomes.

Scope of the Job:

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Sales and Marketing is a quota-carrying player-coach role. The Director personally opens and closes hospital and health-system accounts while building and leading the sales and client service teams behind them. Brand, website, and CRM are supporting responsibilities. The Director sets goals jointly with the CEO, owns the plan to achieve them, and executes a sales strategy across oncology, cardiovascular, transplant, and other therapeutic areas. On a small team, the Director is expected to look beyond their own function to find improvements across the business. Success in this role leads directly to a VP or C-suite position.

Responsibilities

· Personally prospect, open, and close new hospital and health-system accounts, carrying an individual revenue goal while building the team.

· Drive toward a $10 million top-line revenue target and expand from 12 states to a national footprint by the end of 2027.

· Leverage existing hospital pharmacy relationships to generate early revenue and expand the customer portfolio.

· Establish a pipeline of new customers and contracts through trade shows, industry conferences, targeted phone and email outreach, and LinkedIn networking.

· Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for oncology, transplant, and other therapeutic areas, targeting hospitals, hospital pharmacy departments, specialty organizations, clinics, infusion centers, and pharmacies.

· Build, train, and manage a high-performing sales and client service team to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service. Minimum of 6 sales representatives, expanding to 10-15 based on performance.

· Lead client services, including customer onboarding and order fulfillment through warehouse handoff.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability, competitive pricing, and timely delivery to customers.

· Analyze market trends and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product development.

· Be informed about the competitive landscape, identifying strengths and weaknesses of other 503B outsourcing facilities and products from conventional manufacturers.

· Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve business objectives.

· Travel and meet key customers and potential customers across the U.S., and for company leadership activities.

· Direct brand development, the company website, and trade show presence, including booth design and vendor management, with support from outside vendors.

· Implement and optimize the CRM system to streamline sales processes and improve customer relationships.

Candidate Requirements:

· 503B outsourcing facility experience, including knowledge of FDA regulations pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing and 503B outsourcing facilities.

· Documented experience selling into hospital pharmacy departments and pharmacies, with established relationships in the hospital pharmacy market.

· Consistent record of meeting or exceeding quota in hospital or health-system sales.

· Proven ability to open new accounts, not just manage existing ones.

· Experience navigating hospital pharmacy purchasing, including P&T committees, supplier quality audits, and GPO pricing.

· Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership, with a track record on both the sales and management sides, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

· Experience building a sales function from scratch; comfortable wearing many hats in an early-stage company.

· Executive maturity to sell, lead, and build a team simultaneously.

· Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

· Proficient in CRM software.

· Ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve sales excellence.

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA a plus.

Preferred

· Understanding of oncology, transplant, and other therapeutic areas and market dynamics.

· Exposure to hospital procurement and specialty organizations (e.g., The US Oncology Network).

Compensation and Growth

A compensation package will be designed to attract outstanding talent and will include a base salary, bonus, and an attractive benefits package.

· Relocation assistance available.

· Direct path to VP or C-suite leadership.

Physical Requirements

This position involves access to controlled substances and hazardous drugs and as such anyone who has been convicted of a felony or within the past two years any misdemeanor, or is currently charged with committing a criminal offense, is not eligible and will not be considered.

Any person that has knowingly used any narcotic, amphetamine, or barbiturate, other than those prescribed by a physician, is not qualified for this position.
