
The Colby College Department of Music invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Continuing Professor position in Piano Performance to begin on July 1, 2027. We are seeking a dynamic teacher and performer whose research and performance specialization and course offerings will complement those of the existing department. The successful candidate will join a small, collegial department, with responsibilities that include:
The successful candidate will propose courses that are engaging, broadly-appealing for music majors, minors, and the wider student community at Colby. As a whole, the candidate will have a vision for Colby’s Piano performance and chamber music curriculum that will generate excitement among students. The candidate will also maintain a strong research and performance trajectory in their field(s) of specialization. The search committee is especially interested in candidates with a record of previous college teaching and who, through their research and teaching, will foster access and belonging throughout the campus community. The successful candidate has the potential to take on a leadership position in the department. Preference will be given to candidates who have earned a DMA or a Ph.D. in piano performance by the time of appointment.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $82,800 to $86,800, commensurate with rank, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
