Job Description

The department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor in Spanish. This renewable one-year position will begin January 2027. Candidates will teach undergraduate courses (4-4 course load) based upon experience and departmental needs.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Spanish or relevant field is preferred
• Specializations are open
• Evidence of excellent college level teaching is preferred
• Preferences will also be given to candidates who have an interest in community engagement and service learning
• Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
• Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
