Key Purpose

To convert procurement, supplier and claims data into strategic insight and successfully deliver cross-functional projects that improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, service quality and customer outcomes across the non-motor environment.

Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to:

  • This role for the non‑motor environment is accountable for identifying strategic opportunities, translating complex data into practical recommendations, and leading priority procurement and operational improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • The role combines strategic thinking, analytics capability and disciplined project management. IT develops evidence-based business cases, defines measurable benefits that deliveries cross-functional delivery that tracks through clear reporting.
  • The specialist will analyze supplier, claims, cost, service and market information to identify performance trends, process inefficiencies and commercial opportunities within the procurement team. The role will turn findings into sourcing strategies, negotiation positions, process improvements and scalable solutions.
  • The role partners closely with Procurement, Claims Operations, Assessing, Finance, Data and Analytics, Technology, Legal, Compliance and key service partners. The successful candidate must be able to influence senior stakeholders, communicate a clear strategic narrative and maintain delivery momentum across multiple workstreams.
  • Own a portfolio of strategic procurement and operational improvement projects with clear scope, milestones, governance, risks, dependencies and benefits.
  • Perform structured analysis using procurement, supplier, claims, cost and customer data to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
  • Develop business cases, options analyses, implementation and execution recommendations.
  • Design management information, dashboards and reporting packs that translate data into actionable insight.
  • Lead or support sourcing initiative, commercial evaluation and contracting.
  • Monitor supplier performance, service delivery, compliance, cost drivers and value realization against agreed measures.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and pilots, evaluate results and recommend whether solutions should be refined, scaled or stopped.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions and maintain effective stakeholder communication from project initiation to closure.
  • Apply continuous-improvement methods to simplify processes, improve controls and strengthen customer and partner outcomes.
  • Maintain relevant non-motor insurance and supplier-market knowledge to support strategic decision-making.

Education and Experience

Education:

  • Matric (Essential).
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering or Project Management (Advantageous)

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the non‑motor insurance industry, analyzing data, strategy, project management to improve efficiencies.
  • Experience managing stakeholders, risks, dependencies, timelines and competing priorities.
  • 3+ years’ experience in plumbing, building and construction environments (Advantageous)
  • Strong procurement expertise, including sourcing, contracting and supplier negotiations (Advantageous)
