
Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Quality Lead Analyst. This role is based at our Davenport, IA facility. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates outside of 70 miles of Davenport, IA. This role has 25% travel expected.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• The NDT Quality Technician level III Lead will act as multi-site technical authority, use conventional and automated ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy current and other NDT test methods.
• Organizes and oversees group activities and provides guidance to other technicians at multiple Eaton sites as needed.
• Provides practical NDT expertise to support equipment fabrication and problem resolution, monitors the condition of installed hardware, and trains and certify inspectors. Specific functions may include Develop and implement unique NDT procedures in response to customer or supplier needs; coordinate and perform in-service inspections utilizing advanced and automated inspection methods.
• Develop, approve, and maintain NDT procedures and work instructions
• Ensure compliance with NAS 410 and customer requirements
• Train, examine, and certify Level I and Level II technicians
• Provide technical interpretation of inspection results and acceptance criteria
• Lead internal and external audits (including NADCAP readiness)
• Review nonconformance investigations related to NDT findings
• Support production, engineering, and quality teams with technical decisions
• Provides technical direction and leadership for NDT projects and provides classroom training for multiple Eaton sites as required. Extensive communication and interaction with suppliers, component designers, management personnel, and customer personnel are required.
• Conducts and documents tests on parts and assemblies to verify product conformance. Identifies opportunities for improving processes, procedures or equipment.
• Interfaces with engineers, peers or internal customers for assistance and identification of requirements to resolve manufacturing related process problems
• Perform level III responsibilities as required. Performs adequate surveillance to assure compliance of the NDT quality system to all applicable customer quality documents and/or assure the facility properly performs the NDT process for which the NDT quality system certification has been issued
• Maintains Level III certification and calibration of the ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy current, and penetrant fluorescent penetrant processing methods in which qualified for.
• Performs Penetrant inspection of welds, forgings, castings, machined surfaces or other fabricated parts in accordance with company procedures, customer codes, standards and other contractual documents.
• Provides guidance on inspection, functional testing, type testing and examination of all product subassemblies, final assemblies and finished products.
• Must have knowledge of process control techniques, statistical sampling, torque methods and exposure to Acceptance Test Methods associated with hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Operates all product related test equipment to analyze, record, and determine acceptability of product performance.
Required Qualifications:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
• 5+ years’ experience operating ultrasonic, radiographic, and eddy current NDT related test equipment.
• Current or eligible for Level III certification in at least one NDT method (PT, RT, UT, MT, or ET)
• Must be certified as ASNT level III certification in at least one NDT method (PT, RT, UT, MT, or ET) or Equivalent level III experience and be eligible for company certification under NAS 410 requirements.
• Experience training and certifying Level I and Level II technicians
• Experience supporting NADCAP audits
• Strong understanding of inspection documentation and traceability requirements
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, specifications, written instructions and sales order requirements.
• Experience in maintaining complete and accurate records of verification activities using inspection software.
