Job Description

The Tier-2 NOC Engineer is the escalation point for well-defined Network Route/Switch support activities. The scope of work entails responding to automated alert reports against the Client's network infrastructure, supporting maintenance-related activities, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) against Network related incidents, performing deep analysis to identify recurring problems, and then collaborating with Tier-3 Network Engineering to implement the corrective change within the production environment.

Responsibilities

• Working with the Tier-1 NOC Team to proactively identify potential issues that may impact the Client's production network environment.
• 24x7 NOC support and managing client network infrastructure devices such as Cisco routers, Cisco Meraki switches, Palo Alto FW, VMware Hypervisor, Servers, Meraki or similar Wi-Fi access points, etc.
• Advance experience monitoring and troubleshooting cloud services especially AWS services such as EC2, etc. (GCP and Azure experience is a plus)
• Experience using monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, OpsRamp, DataDog, Sumologic etc.
• Advance troubleshooting of network devices (hardware/software) and applications performance management, in addition to other services (servers, VMs, backupjobs, etc.), which traverses client's infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting ISP WAN link issues (MPLS or SD WAN) and escalate them to the ISP management till issue gets resolved
• Providing technical recommendations to optimize network performance based on data collected within the NOC/Client's toolset.
• Identifying and troubleshooting network layer connectivity, OSPF, EIGRP & BGP
• Good understanding of Infrastructure i.e VMs, Storage, Backup, etc. issues. Hands on experience on ACL's and STP protocols i.e switching experience Good exposure on cisco router /Switch NAT and S2S tunnel and route maps
• Hands on experience on Cisco Meraki (SD-WAN) devices
• Better understanding of 4-Tier architecture for the client network connectivity
• Troubleshooting of network and security devices i.e Palo Alto Firewalls, cisco or juniper switches, routers, etc
• Knowledge on VPN technologies i.e IPSEC S2S & Remote VPN Global protect.
• Ability to troubleshoot Wi-Fi related issues i.e Cisco Meraki & ArubaAble to handle P1, P2 & P3 network incidents Accountabilities: Performing network administration activities.
• Actively involve the change management and Tier-3 team to review and get approval to execute the changes
• Receiving escalations from the Tier-1 NOC Engineers and other internal organizations within the network environment and ensuring issues are resolved successfully.
• Engage the vendors cisco/Palo alto to major technical issues /changes
• Identify the older version IOS / PAN OS and update them to customer for upgrade
• Better understanding of Network Topology connectivity and diagrams
• Supporting documentation and maintenance of the Client's network infrastructure

Skills

• BS Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in network setup, debugging, breakfix and related NOC support areas.
• CCNA /CCNP or equipment quality is required.
