Job Description

nLogic is seeking a Sustainment Test and Evaluation Engineer to support a mission-focused effort in the Colorado Springs area.

In this role, you will lead sustainment-focused test and evaluation efforts for MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, conducting independent testing and terminal operations in support of the Space Systems Command Program Management Office at Peterson Space Force Base. Working both autonomously and within a collaborative small-team environment, you’ll plan, execute, and assess hardware and software changes using established government T&E processes, ensuring technical baselines remain reliable and mission-ready. You will apply your engineering expertise to troubleshoot system-level issues, evaluate upgrades, and drive executable solutions for legacy and transitioning space-based communication capabilities, directly contributing to Joint and Allied operational readiness across global SATCOM and NC3 infrastructures.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing across a range of MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, including FABT, GlobalASNT, TDSPP, MMS, GBS, and related terminals, subsystems, and devices
  • Conduct independent verification and validation of hardware and software modifications to assess impacts on system performance, interoperability, and mission readiness
  • Provide engineering and technical support, including integration activities, communication circuit troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and identification of software or hardware defects
  • Evaluate system modifications, identify shortfalls or interoperability issues, and deliver clear technical assessments to the government customer
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, white papers, and test reports
  • Work in a stateoftheart laboratory environment to efficiently test system upgrades and improvements
  • Apply established government T&E and SEIT processes to sustainment activities supporting legacy and transitioning telecommunication capabilities
  • Utilize seniorlevel problemsolving and analytical skills to resolve complex technical challenges and drive actionable solutions
  • Engage collaboratively with government, DoW organizations, and industry partners to achieve missionfocused outcomes
  • Support the Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) in advancing Joint and Allied combat readiness across MILSATCOM and NC3 systems
  • Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations as directed by the government customer

Required Qualifications:
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is mandatory). A clearance active within the last 24 months is considered current.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar technical discipline from an accredited university
  • 10+ years leadership/management experience
  • 5+ years experience with DoW/USAF/USSF test processes and documentation
  • 5+ years experience working with military or DoW civilian clients and managing professional relationships
  • 5+ years experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Developmental Test (DT) experience supporting a DoW Lead Developmental Test Organization (LDTO) or other verification test organization
  • 5+ years of Operational Test (OT) experience supporting a DoW Operational Test Agency (OTA) or other validation test organization
  • Proper handling and use of cryptographic equipment
  • Understands basic principles of cyber security testing focused on DoW STIG compliance
  • Possesses International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)
  • Possesses knowledge of DoW mission system sustainment processes
  • Understands Narrowband/Wideband/Protected SATCOM capabilities; previously operated/maintained one or more of the following systems: FAB-T, MMS, Global-ASNT and/or GBS
  • Understands basic use of Jira/Confluence or other Digital Engineering (DE) applications (e.g., MBSE).

  • Work Model: On-site
  • Travel: Up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations as directed by the government customer
  • Work Hours: Standard
