Love food in a bustling working environment and prefer to work overnight? Then you belong in one of our Local convenience stores. Our Nightshift Trading Assistants work in a fast-paced environment covering all aspects of the store. In this role, you’ll be replenishing stock, checking dates across our fresh produce and grocery products as well as helping unload deliveries and serving customers on tills when the store is open. It’s important you are comfortable being on your feet, working at pace and using technology as part of our role. Whilst you will be part of a close-knit team, we’ll also trust you to work alone and use your initiative.
Whichever area you’re working in, you’ll take pride in doing the right thing for our customers and have a keen attention to detail. You’ll likely have less customer interaction than your daytime colleagues, but you’ll still be tuned into making sure we offer a brilliant shopping experience.
We aim to make everyone who joins us be the best they can be and are committed to being a fully inclusive retailer where our customers love to shop, and our colleagues love to work!
The minimum application age for this role is 18, due to the working hours and type of goods (alcohol, tobacco etc) that you may be required to handle.
Alongside a market leading rate of pay, we also offer a great range of benefits for all our colleagues:

Over 150 years old and still going strong, we’re the UK’s second-biggest retailer. Every day, the nation shops with us because they know they’ll get affordable, good food and excellent service.
We focus on great value and convenient shopping across our family of brands, from Argos, Nectar and Habitat to Sainsbury’s Bank, Smart Charge and Tu.
What’s next for Sainsbury’s?
We've put food back at the heart of our business and we’re taking Sainsbury’s to the next level. We’re investing in technology and people and we’re thinking bigger about how we attract and connect with our customers, while doing everything we can to create a more resilient UK food system.
