YOUR ROLE

CEVA Logistics has been awarded a major new contract with a high-profile client, marking an exciting phase of growth for the business expanding on our ecommerce offering. This is a new build implementation offering exciting opportunities across contract logistics.

As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Night Shift Manager who will take full responsibility for the execution of inbound and outbound activities across the night shift operation. You will lead a team where you will ensure volumes are received, unloaded, verified and booked accurately as well as pick to load and dispatch activities, protecting downstream flow, inventory integrity and service performance and ensuring operational control.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong operational discipline, visible presence and the ability to make real‑time decisions in a fast‑paced, shift‑based logistics operation.

This is a fixed night shift working Monday to Friday, 10pm to 6am.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Reporting into an Operations Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading all inbound and outbound activities during the shift, including vehicle receipt, unloading, decant, verification, system booking, pick to load and dispatch
  • Ensuring volumes are processed in line with plans, throughput targets and service expectations
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for shift‑level operational, safety or quality issues
  • Championing a strong safety‑first culture and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards, SSOW and client standard work
  • Leading, coaching and engaging Team Leaders and Warehouse Associates to deliver safety, quality and productivity targets
  • Managing labour deployment, agency usage and dock plans within agreed parameters
  • Monitoring real‑time performance, adjusting resources to maintain flow and minimise disruption
  • Leading clear shift handovers and ensuring accurate reporting and escalation of risks
  • Driving right‑first‑time execution, operational discipline and continuous improvement on shift
  • Support the Operations Manager with any additional tasks as and when required

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To be successful in your application you will have proven experience of managing or supervising a team, ideally within a fast-paced, shift-based warehousing or ecommerce environment. You will have a strong understanding of inbound and outbound operations with a proven track record of delivering against safety, quality and productivity targets, and knowledgeable in delivering improvements, with an understanding of LEAN and continuous improvement methods utilised in an operational setting.

You will be a confident and visible leader with excellent communication skills, able to remain calm and decisive under pressurised, high volume, and time critical situations.

It would be desirable, however not essential if you have proven site start up, peak or ramp-up operational experience.
