Job Location: THOMPSON HARDWOODS INC - HAZLEHURST, GA 31539
Job Shift: Night Shift

Position Summary:
The Sawmill Floor Man plays a critical role in maintaining efficient production flow within the sawmill. This position supports mill operations by handling lumber, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting machine operators and supervisors as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the movement, sorting, and stacking of lumber and wood products
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris to ensure safe operations
- Support sawmill operators by supplying materials and clearing finished products
- Inspect lumber for quality and remove defective materials as directed
- Operate basic tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and OSHA regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Perform general labor duties as assigned to support mill productivity

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or industrial environment is a plus, but is not required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs.) regularly
- Willingness to work in varying weather and environmental conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Work Environment:
- Industrial sawmill setting with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery
