About the Role

The On Call Incident Response role is a full-time fixed term 6-month position and will involve an 8-hour shift pattern between the hours of hours 5pm to 7am, Wednesdays to Sundays.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct visits to services to provide support and guidance to staff in trauma informed best practice, underpinned by the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model
  • Promote safe, nurturing, and culturally respectful environments for all individuals in our care
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents that occur during shifts
  • Provide oversight, direction, and reassurance to on shift teams
  • Step in to cover staffing vacancies or emergencies when required
  • Review the care environment to maintain a clean, safe home for young people
  • Ensure rostered staff comply with WHS requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum Diploma (or working towards) in community, youth, or social work
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic care practices
  • Strong documentation and compliance capability
  • Ability to rapidly process and interpret complex information from multiple sources, triage risk and respond to incidents
  • Current driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and probity clearances

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
