Plastipak Lead Machine Operators are responsible for the coordination of production activities and personnel. You will communicate with the Supervisor and Shift Maintenance as to the reliability of the equipment within the department and work closely with the Supervisor and Shift Maintenance to ensure shift operational objectives are maintained.

You Will
Identify cause and affect issues on equipment within the department up to and including basic repairs and communicating them to the Team Leader and Shift Maintenance
Have operational understanding of all production equipment within the department
Have knowledge of the handling of all raw materials (tier sheets, top frames, scrap raw materials, pallets, stretch wrap and banding)
Observe all local and company safety policies and procedures as well as maintaining good housekeeping, 6S and GMP practices
Follow our ISO standards and how to locate plant procedural forms and work instructions
In absence of Supervisor, lead the shift towards operational goals, perform the pre-shift DDS shift operator huddle meeting, including designating daily tasks/line assignments and ensuring production schedule is followed
Initiate action(s) for food safety issues and report the issue(s) and action(s) taken to a member of the Food Safety Team
You Have
Successfully completed the Orientation Period
Proficient operation in all production equipment operation
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate verbally and give clear direction
Proven attendance, safety and quality record
Team oriented
Ability to multi-task
Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
Proven ability to lead a group of peers
