Night Security Officer

Location: 5 Queensway, Croydon

Reports to: Security Manager

Contract: Permanent, Night Shifts (The shift pattern consists of two consecutive night shifts, followed by two nights off. Each shift will be 12.5 hours in duration).

Your role @CHANEL:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Security Officer to join our Security Team at 5 Queensway. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our site and premises. The Night Security Officer will be also responsible for operating and maintaining surveillance equipment installed across the CHANEL portfolio, while also managing the safe entry and exit of all staff and visitors to 5Q. The role requires an excellent communicator and the delivery of excellent service to a wide spectrum of stakeholders.

  • The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
  • Monitor and review the CCTV that feeds into the 5Q CCTV Control Room from various sites within the CHANEL portfolio, looking for signs of suspicious activity, threats to the business and the movement of staff, visitors, contractors at 5Q. Auditing of the CCTV systems, Intruder Alarm to ensure all cameras and alarm sensors are fully operational at all times and reporting any losses of images, signals to the Security Manager.
  • Manage all incoming telephone calls to the Security Office, ensuring that messages are taken where appropriate, and information is properly relayed and recorded for the Security Team.
  • Key Safe Management: Management of keys in the building, responsible for assigning keys to staff upon request, ensuring they are signed out on the Security Key Log and returned to the Security Desk at the close of business.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Recent security experience will be beneficial
  • Excellent knowledge of security systems, protocols, and safety regulations
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with other departments, always demonstrating a professional attitude
  • Proficiency in reporting and record-keeping
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft, OutLook
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and consideration for Health / Safety and Fire prevention within the workplace
