New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Night Field Supervisor to provide off-hours field supervision and support to Energy Delivery work groups to ensure timely and efficient response to customer and operational demands. Oversee leak response activities, maintain adherence to customer appointment commitments, and support overall customer satisfaction goals. Respond to emergencies, address operational questions from internal teams and subcontractors, and maintain effective communication with management as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
• Ensure prompt, effective emergency response to protect life and property.
• Manage and adjust daily workflows based on operational demands, optimizing resources and minimizing overtime and standby.
• Direct the deployment of company personnel and subcontractors to maintain a safe, reliable distribution system.
• Coordinate non-routine work resulting from incidents, including outage reporting and field resource allocation.
• Oversee off-hours operations, including leak response, customer appointments, and facility maintenance and repair.
• Serve as a key point of contact during off-hours, supporting Energy Delivery personnel and activities.
• Communicate effectively with management on operational status and emerging issues.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Partner with Field and Dispatch Supervision to improve efficiency and execution of work.
• Monitor and address productivity performance, implementing improvements as needed.
• Conduct unannounced field evaluations to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality work practices.
• Coach and develop team members to enhance technical skills, efficiency, and safe work behaviors.
• Provide actionable feedback to leadership, including insights from field evaluations and weekly reporting.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Associate degree required, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public utility operations or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills required.
• Working knowledge of Maximo work order system preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Familiarity with union work rules and collective bargaining agreements a plus.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, with flexibility required based on business needs.

This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.

Other Details:
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $92,500 to 125,000.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
