Job Description

Assist in the day to day operations of the Front Office department including lobby services and security functions, ensuring that standards are maintained in these areas, efficiency evident and customer’s needs met and expectations exceeded. Maintain the Public Areas in line with brand standards and ensuring cleanliness

  • on 2nd Floor in line with regulations. Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Assist with car / hotel doors and guest luggage.
  • Exercise care and responsibility when parking guest vehicles. Follow procedures set out in manual.
  • Ensure the safety and security of Hotel Guests and their property whilst staying at the Hotel.
  • To prepare the in-room dinning during overnight, deliver food to guest in a promised time frame
  • To ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy after preparing the room service order
  • Assist Night Manager for any arrivals or departures, room show, luggage arrangement, transportation arrangement, etc. Ensure procedures are followed in regards to guest transportation, luggage collection and storage, and guest confidentiality.
  • Provide barista coffee guest orders and assist the Food & Beverage team in breakfast set up
  • Ensure messages are delivered with the utmost urgency.
  • All guest property in storage, long or short term, duly documented and cared for.
  • Assist with the Front Office operation to achieve a reputation as a market leader in individualized customer focused service.
  • Regular liaison with Maintenance ensuring maintenance requests are completed quickly focusing on guest needs as a priority.
  • Ensure relative guest/ambassador information is communicated through the agreed communication channels.
  • Ensure the appearance of the guest services desk, foyer and forecourt is immaculately presented at all times.
  • Keep the Night Manager informed of the Guest Services activities.
  • Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
  • Ensure high standards of property presentation, hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Ensure economic use of chemicals and linen.
  • Ensure all corridors are free of trays, linen trolleys or cages.
  • Assist with the provision and removal of rollaway beds and cots.
  • Any other reasonable requests assigned by your manager.
  • Responsible for the service of alcohol in some shifts and as required by operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role, including 5 star experience.
  • Clean and full New Zealand driving license
  • LCQ and First Aid required
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills.
  • Desire and ability to train and develop staff.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends in service, product and presentation.
  • Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.
  • Organises time and work efficiently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appreciates and maintains an effective outlet for stress.
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as part of the job role.
  • Has the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with Sofitel.
