Position Summary
The Night Auditor serves as the heartbeat of the hotel overnight, balancing financial accuracy with guest experience. This role is responsible for overseeing all overnight operations, completing audit procedures, and acting as the Manager on Duty during non-business hours.
Blending front desk hospitality with accounting precision, the Night Auditor ensures the property runs smoothly while delivering a calm, secure, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all overnight guest needs.
- Manage check-ins, check-outs, and reservation inquiries.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment throughout the shift.
- Complete nightly audit procedures accurately and on time.
- Reconcile daily financial transactions, including room revenue, cash, and credit cards.
- Post room charges, taxes, and adjustments.
- Generate and distribute daily financial and operational reports.
- Identify and report discrepancies to management.
- Act as Manager on Duty overnight, ensuring smooth hotel operations.
- Conduct property walks to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
- Monitor arrivals, departures, and overall overnight activity.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security as needed.
- Ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents according to protocol.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest and financial information.
Required Skills &

Qualifications
- Previous front desk or night audit experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of PMS systems (Opera or similar preferred).
- Basic accounting knowledge and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
