Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Position Description

POSITION TITLE: Night Auditor

DEPARTMENT: Hotel (Hotel Front Office, Hotel Tower IV Front Desk)

GRADE/FLSA STATUS: H11—Non-Exempt

BADGE TYPE/COLOR: Key--Blue

REPORTS TO: Front Desk Supervisor

SUPERVISES: N/A

Handle end-of day bookkeeping and perform night audit for both hotels. Prepare and review the hotel management system for accuracy. Prepare and program group arrivals in LMS.

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values

  • Perform guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible

  • Review VIP classifications in the hotel management system for accuracy and correct incorrect entries

  • Pre-register block reservations

  • Verify upcoming group block for reservation accuracy.

  • Input upcoming group information into the hotel property management system.

  • Coordinate wholesaler program, assign rooms, and ensure that contractual obligations are met

  • Process same day reservations and when necessary future reservations following hotel rate structures and selling strategies

  • Reconcile suspense accounts

  • Investigate and resolve out of balance accounts

  • Cancel room reservations according to established procedures

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager

  • Run all departmental reports throughout shift for system maintenance

  • Check all arrivals daily

  • Prepare for date roll by verifying unassigned, preregistered, on hold, and out of order rooms

  • Reconcile movie reports nightly

  • Post no-show revenue to no-show rooms nightly

  • Verify guest ledger and manual override reports for accuracy

  • Print cashiering reports and balance against daily paperwork and correct inaccuracies

  • Print and verify the room’s revenue potential report for accuracy

  • Prepare and organize the night audit packet to be delivered to accounting

  • Process back to back reservations

  • Use the over credit limit report to prevent out of balance accounts

  • Prepare the PCW report for the night audit

  • Print and verify the CSEVM report for accuracy

  • Distribute night audit to Income Control nightly

  • Prepare and distribute the daily passdown and flash reports

  • Adhere to all regulatory, company, and departmental policies/procedures in an ethical manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • One-year front desk experience required

  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills

  • An eye for detail

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Self-Starter; must work without close supervision

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

  • *Knowledge of LMS

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  1. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items

  2. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues

  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

  4. Must be able to work in small, shared office space

  5. Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employees

  6. Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations

  7. Must be able to lift to 25 pounds and carry 5 pounds

  8. Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including computers, fax machine and photo copier

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibrations, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
