Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant with our NICU.

The NICU Physician Assistant (PA) manages a caseload of neonatal patients with consultation, collaboration, and medical supervision of a Neonatologist. The NICU PA provides advanced clinical care to critically ill and premature newborns in the NICU. Working collaboratively with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, the PA is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of neonatal patients and support of their families. In addition, the NICU Physician Assistant performs clinical procedures, demonstrates competence in clinical skills, leadership, communication, teaching and research.

The individual follows standards of conduct and procedures of hospital and applicable laws and regulations and reports violations through appropriate chain of command. The individual reports safety concerns and hazardous conditions in a timely and appropriate manner.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
  • Current NCCPA certification required.
  • WV PA license required.
  • AHA BLS required
  • NRP required.
  • Position-related experience preferred.

-Computer skills, especially word processor and excel spread sheets
