NHS Pharmacy Technician

Application Deadline: 30 September 2026

Department: Pharmacy Dispenser

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Kingfisher Medical Centre & Kingfisher Surrey Docks

Compensation: £26,000 - £30,000 / year

Are you passionate about patient care and precision? At Penrose Health, we’re looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to help us deliver safe, efficient, and timely medication services across our practices. This isn’t your traditional dispensing role - you’ll work closely with Pharmacists, GPs, and the wider clinical team to manage prescription workflows, monitor medications, and support audits - all while ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.

It’s an opportunity to be part of a progressive, patient-focused team that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement. With flexible working options, a supportive environment, and clear pathways for career growth, you’ll have everything you need to thrive while making a genuine impact in community healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing prescription workflows – keeping everything safe, smooth, and on time.
  • Monitoring medications – including blood tests and drug levels for patient safety.
  • Handling prescription queries – solving problems and keeping communication clear.
  • Liaising with pharmacies and hospitals – making sure everyone’s on the same page.
  • Processing clinical letters – turning paperwork into action.
  • Supporting audits & medicines optimisation – helping reduce waste and improve care.
  • Contributing to cost-effective prescribing – because smart choices matter.
  • Managing stock of emergency drugs – ensuring the right meds are always available.
  • Working with the wider MDT – teamwork makes the healthcare dream work!

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Have an eagle eye for detail – accuracy is your superpower.
  • Communicate like a pro – clear, confident, and collaborative.
  • Love problem-solving – turning challenges into solutions excites you.
  • Enjoy teamwork – but can also fly solo when needed.
  • Stay organised under pressure – juggling tasks without breaking a sweat.
  • Are self-motivated – you take initiative and keep things moving.
  • Embrace innovation – always looking for smarter, better ways to work.
  • Care about patients – because every detail impacts someone’s health.
