The NG, NGLs, and Specialties Optimization Director will develop and operationalize optimization models across the NG&NGL Value Chain by embedding data-driven decision-making into commercial processes and workflows spanning the Value Chain. This role bridges Strategy, Trading, Supply, Operations, and Digital/IT to translate optimization strategy into real-time business impact adding traceable value to the organization.
This leader will be responsible for leading the buildout of the NG, NGL, and Specialties VCO organizational outlook, various decision support models, tools, workflows and process that will define how optimization is executed from data inputs to the resulting operational changes derived from modeling results; ensuring adoption, trust, and measurable value creation.
Lead Value Chain optimization projects serving as the central resource for model development, management, and enhancements; monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Collaborates with Value Chain Leadership in strategically developing the organization to achieve goals, supporting the execution and adoption of the Value Chain optimization programs.
Translate strategic priorities into high-value optimization use-case applications; prioritizing opportunities based on economic value and feasibility while logically layering into the larger Optimization program.
Lead the definition and deployment of end-to-end workflows including data inputs, model execution, output interpretation, and decision ownership that support production, logistics, and market-based models that deliver margin-maximizing guidance across the enterprise.
Translate business needs into modeling and data requirements; Partner with Data Science/IT on model development priorities, usability and deployment, ensuring outputs are practical, timely, and trusted.
Apply predictive analytics to improve forecast accuracy and execution alignment across NG, NGLs, and Specialties Value Chains.
Deliver desk-side assistance for acute modeling issues while maintaining governance, documentation, and user support across Optimization platforms.
Integrate optimization model outputs into new and existing reports and forums and reports that will constructively and efficiently result in full adoption of the Optimization program models.
Monitor plan execution, conduct structured lookbacks, and report adherence to drive continuous improvement and KPI alignment Challenge existing practices where optimization unlocks value.
Establish feedback loops to continuously improve models and workflows using technology templates to improve comprehension and actionability of model outputs across commercial and operations teams.
Partner across leadership from other organizations to support cross Value Chain and cross organizational collaboration in capability building
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Ten (10) years’ experience in oil and gas.
Experience working with or alongside optimization models (LP, network optimization, etc.) preferred
Manage large scale optimization and/or process improvement projects across teams preferred
Strong commercial acumen (pricing, logistics, asset optimization)
Exceptional stakeholder influence and credibility
