About the Client

Yorktown Search Partners has been exclusively retained to recruit an NFLPA-certified Contract Advisor on behalf of our client, a legal-first global sports agency that integrates contract negotiation, compliance, branding, and wealth structuring into a unified athlete representation platform.

This confidential search is part of an aggressive expansion into the NFL, with a mandate to lead recruitment and representation of elite football talent across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Athlete Recruitment & Roster Building

• Sign and manage NFL draft prospects, active players, and free agents
• Build strong pipelines from NCAA Division I programs, combines, and national scouting networks

Contract Negotiation

• Negotiate rookie-scale, veteran, and free-agent contracts under the NFL CBA
• Handle bonuses, incentives, and arbitration with full in-house legal support

Endorsements & Sponsorships

• Secure high-value brand partnerships across apparel, tech, media, and lifestyle categories
• Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to elevate athlete marketability

NIL Pipeline Development

• Engage collegiate athletes under NIL rules, preparing them for NFL draft and commercial readiness

Cross-Border Advisory (U.S.-Canada)

• Advise players on cross-border tax and legal issues related to NFL/CFL pathways

Qualifications

• NFLPA Contract Advisor Certification (Required)
• 3+ years of experience representing NFL or pro football athletes
• Demonstrated success in contract negotiation, draft representation, or endorsement deals
• Strong NCAA recruiting network and familiarity with combine/draft preparation
• Deep understanding of the NFL CBA, cap structures, and incentive mechanisms

Compensation & Structure

• Commissions:
  Up to 3% on player contracts (standard NFL agent structure)
• Endorsement Deals: 10-20% commission
• Equity Track: Participate in the clients IPO-bound equity growth program
• Support Infrastructure: Access to integrated legal, tax, branding, and marketing teams-freeing agents to focus on talent and dealmaking
