Description:

KFVS/WSIL is seeking an energetic, creative, and motivated Producer to join our newsroom. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, thrives under deadline pressure, and has a strong grasp of local and national news. This producer will craft compelling, visually engaging newscasts that inform and connect with our audience on all platforms.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Produce engaging, fast-paced newscasts
* Write, edit, and organize scripts with accuracy and creativity
* Coordinate with anchors, reporters, photographers, directors, and the digital team to ensure seamless and polished shows
* Incorporate breaking news, live shots, and developing stories effectively into newscasts
* Monitor wires, social media, scanner traffic, and other sources for story ideas and updates
* Collaborate with Newsroom leadership on story selection, rundowns, and coverage priorities - ensuring strategic goals are being met
* Ensure broadcasts meet editorial and legal standards
* Contribute to digital platforms

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred
* Previous newscast producing experience preferred, but not required
* Strong writing, storytelling, and editorial judgment skills
* Familiarity with ENPS or similar newsroom systems a plus
* Ability to multitask and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
