Volvo Cars South Africa is part of Volvo Car Corporation. We are now looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to lead and develop our new and used vehicle operations across the national retailer network. In this role, you will drive sustainable growth, retailer profitability, and strong business performance, while ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.
You will develop and execute national strategies for new and used vehicle operations, acting as the primary commercial link between Volvo Cars South Africa and the retailer network.
Your responsibilities include:
• Developing and delivering national sales strategies across new and used vehicles
• Leading business planning, forecasting, budgeting and KPI follow-up
• Driving retail, fleet, rental, corporate and certified pre-owned (Selekt) performance
• Defining pricing, model mix and lifecycle strategies to optimise profitability and protect residual values
• Supporting product launches, incentive programmes and commercial campaigns
You will also:
• Build strong relationships with dealer principals and retailer management
• Monitor retailer performance, profitability and operational effectiveness
• Lead performance reviews and implement improvement plans where needed
• Ensure compliance with Volvo Cars standards and customer experience expectations
In addition, you will:
• Lead certified pre-owned, fleet, rental and remarketing strategies
• Manage residual value performance and lifecycle planning
• Drive data-led decision-making based on market trends and performance insights
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Aftersales and Customer Experience functions
• Promote a high-performance, collaborative and accountable culture
You are a commercially driven and strategic leader with strong automotive experience and a proven ability to drive performance through others. You combine analytical thinking with strong stakeholder management skills and are confident operating in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Management, Marketing, Commerce, Finance, or a related field
• Additional automotive, sales or leadership qualifications are advantageous
• 8–10 years of automotive industry experience
• Proven experience in vehicle sales, fleet, remarketing or commercial management
• Strong track record of driving sales growth, profitability and retailer performance
• Experience managing dealer networks and senior stakeholders
• Dealership experience is an advantage
• Experience within a premium automotive brand is highly desirable
