SVPHT CARDIAC/MEDICAL NEW PRACTITIONER PROGRAM – REGISTERED NURSE

If you are a registered or enrolled nurse and have less than twelve (12) months experience in an acute healthcare facility, we have an excellent opportunity to join St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) St Lukes ward within our supportive New Practitioner Program.

  • 0.8FTE permanent position within St Lukes ward
  • 11mth supportive New Practitioner Program commences from your date of hire
  • Rostering includes public holidays, weekends, and rotating day/evening/night shifts

GRADUATE INFORMATION SESSION:

An Information Session about the New Practitioner Program offered at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba will be held between 1530 - 1630hrs on Tuesday 8th September 2026 in the ACU Room within the Clinical School, L2 (Entrance 4).

During this session, the Staff Learning & Development Manager and Clinical Nurse Educators responsible for the New Practitioner Program will be available to discuss the content of the programs as well as answer any questions you may have.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology, and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

  • the details of at least two (2) clinical referees who are aware and willing to be contacted to provide a reference (your referee's must be either a clinical teacher, preceptor, or other senior nurse that you have reported to at a clinical placement)
  • copy of current drivers' licence or passport

  • APHRA Registration certificate or indication of eligibility for registration as a Registered nurse or Enrolled Nurse with the Nurses and Midwives board (AHPRA)
  • Eligibility to work in Australia with VISA evidence supplied
  • Completed Position Description document, ensuring Inherent Requirements of the Role has been signed

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
