About this role

Carrier’s Global Quality office has an opportunity for an individual to lead the New Product Development Gate Review Process (Passport), and to drive operations and quality excellence within the New Product Development (NPD) processes. This position will have a direct impact on the future product offerings of Carrier.

We are seeking a high-energy individual that is passionate about proactively driving quality and efficiency in New Product Development. The position will be the Champion of this domain, manage and drive improvements in the Passport Gate Review process, and collaborate across functions to continuously improve the overall Product Development Process. This position will have visibility across Carrier business segments, as well as with the Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Engineering leadership teams. This position will have several matrixed reports.

This onsite role will be based in Palm Beach Gardens (FL), Indianapolis (IN) or Charlotte (NC). This position will be a direct report to the VP of Quality at the Center for Intelligent Buildings in Palm Beach Gardens.

Key Responsibilities

As Passport Champion:

• Manage and improve the gated Passport processes for the Product Development Process (PDP), Transition of Work (TOW) and Software Development Processes
• Facilitate World Headquarters led Passport Gate Reviews for Level 1 strategic programs
• Coordinate and ensure policy compliance by the Business Segment Program Management Offices (PMO) and Business Unit (BU) functions assigned to the programs
• Manage and continuously improve Passport Policy, standard work and associated infrastructure including the PDP/Passport website and measurement system
• Develop and implement training and skill development programs for Passport stakeholders i.e. Passport Review Board (PRB) members and program managers

Product Development Process:

• Co-lead the cross-functional and cross-business segment PDP Council in the transformation and improvement of Carrier new product development processes
• Lead and facilitate Operations and Quality focused product development improvement initiatives
• Collaborate to establish and execute PDP transformation roadmap with a focus on the full product life-cycle
• Define PDP measurement and feedback system
• Leverage process and product performance data to drive and verify strategic improvement, i.e. improve manufacturing process definition with verification using Carrier PPM system(s)
• Develop and implement training and skill development programs for PDP Stakeholders

Part of Quality Leadership Team:

• Collaborative member of Quality Leadership team
• Establish and ensure successful execution of strategic improvement (i.e. Manufacturing Process Review) and global collaboration initiatives (i.e. Annual Quality Summit)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 5 years plus experience in operations, engineering or quality
• 5 years plus experience in new product development
