The purpose of theNew Patient Scheduleris toprovide supportbytelephone and scheduleall incoming new patient referrals. Other duties include confirming, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments as well as directing physician to physician calls.
Answer a high volume of callsin a timely mannerandcompletenew patient referrals according todepartmentstandards.
Accurately enter data given for callers or referring offices into practice management and EMR systems.
Distribute information to theappropriate personor departmentin a timely manner
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
Establish andmaintaineffective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and thegeneral public
May schedule and confirm patient appointments.
Answer telephones and direct calls toappropriate staff
Receive and route messages and documents as needed.
Performreminderandno showcalls.
Operate office equipment such asmulti-line phone system and use word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications as needed to do work assigned.
Perform various clerical and administrative functions as needed.
Assisttelephone operators with incoming calls as needed.
Transmit information or documents as needed, usingcomputer, mail, or fax machine.
Other duties as assigned.
