Job Purpose

The New Model Quality Project Leader I is responsible for the development and implementation of quality strategies, to meet the new model (product) goals for SXS Products produced at SCM. Provides direct project leadership to the SCM quality related departments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the quality related activities to include the development of quality goals and targets and support the creation and development / implementation of additional quality improvement initiatives (Q-themes) of their assigned projects.
  • Provide direction and support of quality planning activities to include the creation and maintenance of Specified Action Plans (SAP) to achieve project goals and targets as well as evaluating quality departmental SAP’s to ensure completeness and consistency with the overall new model project SAP activity.
  • Ensure the timely maturation of the product specification for the new model project to include provide the quality voice and vision in the planning and execution of the project from a companywide viewpoint (DEB), direct the application of Specification Notices and Manufacturing Instructions to trial build events and coordinate advanced design change application activity with R&D.
  • Lead Quality division new model project problem solving and countermeasure activity while balancing development QCD. Apply situational leadership principles to navigate diverse viewpoints, unique quality challenges, and business constraints.
  • Confirm the quality readiness of project preparations for the new model launch to include providing direction to the departments as needed to ensure smooth project completion and new model launch, coordination of quality department readiness reporting and the participation in SCM plant wide department project readiness checks as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent in related field
  • 5+ years of related work experience may be substituted.

Minimum Experience

  • Should have 1-3 years project leadership experience.
  • Experience in PSP manufacturing quality, and / or quality division functions

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • Understanding of Q-side New Model Roles and Responsibilities
  • Understanding of SEDB (Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing) functions
  • Understanding of New Model development characteristics (timelines, schedules, etc.)
  • Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to positively influence & motivate team members.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

Working Conditions

  • Travel: Average of 12~24 times per year, depending on project demands.
  • Physical: Primarily desk work, frequent keyboarding.
