The23-bedNeuro MedicalTelemetryUnit cares for patients with varying neurological needs.As an RN Resident on theteam, you will deliver exceptional care alongside a coach, throughout the patient care journey.This department offers a great environment in which to learn and strengthen your skills in IVs, NGTs, cardiac drops and stroke care, preparing you for a higher level of care in the ICU, CCU or ED.Here, you canexperienceshared governance, tuitionreimbursementand RN opportunities on other units.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.

• Provide direct nursing care alongside asuccesscoach.

• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patientpreferenceand resource availability).

• Initiate and/ormaintaininterventions toassurecontinuity of safe/effective care for patients.

• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.

• Seek supervision,consultationandassistancewhen unable to perform safely and independently.

• Documentinpatients’ medical records.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
